Built for real households, not solo meal-preppers

Plan meals for everyone at your table — including the ones just visiting.

MadsMenu is the shared breakfast‑lunch‑dinner board for households: regulars appear every day, guests appear only while they're staying, and every plan can be viewed by day, by person, or by meal.

Designed around one real family's week — regulars, a teenager, and a rotating guest room.

How it actually works

One board. Three meals a day. Nobody left off the list.

The widget above is a scaled preview of the real app. Switch between Day and Week, tap any name to set what they're eating, and watch the favorite star and guest badges behave exactly like they do on your phone.

Why households switch to MadsMenu

Five small ideas that remove a week of back‑and‑forth texts.

01 — Day view

Tap a name, type a meal, done.

Every regular shows up automatically for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nothing to configure each morning — the board already knows who's home today.

  • One tap opens the editor for that person and that meal.
  • "Apply to everyone" fills the whole meal in a single move on family‑dinner nights.
  • Empty slots read as an honest "tap to add" — never a blank guess.

02 — Week view

See the whole week three different ways.

Flip between by day, by person, and by meal — the same data, reorganized for whichever question you're actually asking.

  • By day: a full Sunday‑to‑Saturday agenda at a glance.
  • By person: "what is Sam eating all week?" answered instantly.
  • By meal: plan every dinner for the week in one uninterrupted pass.

Filled days are planned · blue days include a guest stay

03 — Guests with dates, not guesswork

Guests only appear on the days they're actually staying.

Add a guest once, give them a stay range (or just "today"), and they slot into every meal automatically for exactly those days — then quietly disappear afterward.

  • "Add guest for today" for a last‑minute visitor.
  • Multi‑day stays for weekend guests, in‑laws, or house‑sitters.
  • A small dot on the week strip flags any day with a guest staying.

04 — Favorites, tagged by meal

Star it once. Reuse it forever.

Any meal you type can be starred as a favorite and tagged for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner — so "pick from favorites" only shows you options that actually make sense for the slot you're filling. Cook something that isn't on the built-in list? Add it as a custom meal in the full app and it works exactly the same way.

  • Tag and filter favorites by meal type in the full app.
  • The star badge shows up right on the day view, so you know it's a proven winner.
  • No account or sync service needed — favorites are stored locally in this browser's storage.

05 — Ready to cook

Mark it prepped. Everyone sees it instantly.

Mark tonight's dinner as prepped so the whole household sees at a glance. Ready-to-cook status persists per meal, per day — no more "did anyone start dinner?" texts.

  • One tap marks a planned meal ready to cook, right on the day view.
  • Anyone looking at the board sees the same status, instantly.
  • Tracked per meal, per day — dinner being ready doesn't touch breakfast or lunch.

A weekend with company

Friday your household is three. Saturday it's five. MadsMenu doesn't need to know in advance.

Regulars are always on the board. The moment you add a stay for a guest, they show up in every meal card for exactly the days you choose — Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast, say — without editing anyone else's plan or duplicating the whole week.

Illustrative household scenarios

The problem was never the cooking. It was the deciding.

The scenarios below are illustrative examples of how a household might use MadsMenu — not testimonials from existing customers.

"We used to have the same 'what's for dinner' argument every single night. With a shared board on the fridge tablet, it's already answered before anyone asks."
M Mette & Andershousehold of four, one picky eater
"A mother-in-law stays most weekends. Adding her as a guest for just those days, instead of re-planning the whole week, is the kind of thing this is built for."

"By-meal view means planning all seven dinners in one go on Sunday night, then not thinking about it again until Wednesday."

Stop re-deciding dinner. Start planning it once, for everyone.

MadsMenu is still cooking. Have a look around the demo above to see how a week planned together might feel — the full app is on its way.
